Services_ / Energy law
Energy is highly profitable industry. This is proven by the examples of Middle Eastern countries which have experienced a huge economic growth in the last 30 years due to their sources of oil and gas. Other conventional sources of energy such as wood and coal are less profitable as they are usually used for the purpose of one community. In addition to these conventional energy sources, there are alternative sources that relate to solar energy, wind energy, waves, geothermal energy, biomass and tidal.
The development of industry demanded and requires huge amounts of energy. As this development went faster, the need for energy was getting bigger and bigger. Renewable and non-renewable energy, ie. their stocks engage numerous economic, social, legal and recently military issues.
The field of energy and mining is the responsibility of the Ministry of Energy and Mines of the Republic of Serbia. The Ministry covers several important areas of this area such as electric power sector, oil and gas sector, sector for energy efficiency and renewable energy and the sector of geology and mining. Each of these areas is regulated by the relevant legal acts, laws, rules and regulations. It is believed that the Republic of Serbia has not sufficiently exploited its energy potential and, in this sense, has a great chance for faster economic development.
Energy was previously reserved for the so called big players but the development of various projects on exploitation of energy resources opens the door to different business arrangements and so called smaller market-oriented participants to devolop their business.
